Important Update: Morning Classes Resume January 27, 2025:

Our morning instructor is currently training in Thailand, gaining advanced knowledge and techniques to bring back to Douglas County. Morning classes will resume on January 27, 2025. In the meantime, we encourage you to join our afternoon sessions to keep up with your training and stay on track with your fitness goals.

Boxing gloves: Gloves are available to borrow during each session. Or can purchase your own gloves at our pro shop or receive a free pair when you sign up for a monthly membership.

Important Reminder:

No shoes are required during training, so come ready to move comfortably on the mats.

What to Expect in a DC Muay Thai Tiger Fit Class

In every Tiger Fit session, we’ll guide you through exercises that build strength, improve balance, and boost your fitness, all while learning moves from the world of Muay Thai. Here’s what each session looks like

1. Warm-Up and Preparation

(5 Minutes)

We start every class with a gentle warm-up to get you moving and ready to go. Expect some light stretching, basic footwork, and easy moves to help you get comfortable with the flow of the class. Our instructors will guide you through each warm-up so you feel ready for the main workout.

2. Bag Work and Basic Striking (28 Minutes)

The heart of Tiger Fit is our heavy bag work, where you’ll get to practice real Muay Thai moves like punches, elbows, kicks, and knees. Don’t worry about being perfect—this part of the class is all about having fun and trying something new!

Each round, we’ll introduce you to simple combinations that build up as you gain confidence:

  • Rounds 1-3 : We’ll start with single strikes and two-strike combos, so you can get comfortable with the basics.

  • Rounds 4-6: As you progress, we’ll introduce three-, four-, and even five-strike combinations to give you more variety and confidence with the bag.

  • Round 7: Freestyle! Here, you’ll have the chance to experiment with all the moves you’ve learned and find your own rhythm.

Each round is only 3 minutes, with a rest period in between to catch your breath. By the end of this section, you’ll have had a complete workout, building both your skills and your fitness.

3. Fun Fitness Circuit (5 Minutes)

After the bag work, we’ll lead a short, easy-to-follow fitness circuit to build strength and stamina. Each exercise includes beginner-friendly options, so you can choose what suits you best. Expect push-ups, bodyweight squats, jumping jacks, and a plank hold—all with simple modifications. This quick circuit adds a great finishing touch to your workout, no experience required!

4. Cool Down and Relaxation (5 Minutes)

Every session ends with a cool-down to help you relax and recover. We’ll guide you through some gentle stretching and breathing exercises to help you unwind and ease any muscle tension. This part of the session helps you stay flexible, reduces soreness, and leaves you feeling refreshed.
